I have conducted experiments about C4D's model link to Dbpro, and results are below
- I save c4d files as 3ds files, and convert them with DBconv (file below) into x files, as 3ds dosent work, coming up with an error 7018. I found this
awesome program after a long search - DBConv - See my links section to download it.
- I have discovered the forward / backward / rotation axis of c4d models in dbpro, see the picture. the car is facing forward, and will rotate on it's middle. You can also manually rotate it to face the direction you want then use lock object pivot to default its rotation to 0,0,0.

- C4D lights work very well when imported into Darkbasic Pro, and dosent rotate with the model or do anything crappy that i expected it would. it stayed
right in place where i put it, shining down on the model properly even when i moved it around. (all in dbp) It dosent affect objects created in dbp though
, but lights in dbp
does affect c4d models. see the link below.
- I have encountered a problem - http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=109457&b=1 -anyone have any ideas?
6/7/07 - Problem solved
I baked the the model, with all the settings on, and came out with three bmps( youve gotta set it on bmp), and i just loaded the model onto darkbasic and textured it from there. I tried this on one of my models from my up and coming game, and it worked beautifully. i will see if the landscape works too, and im gonna start baking it right now.
Hmm... i might look into the area of DBP bump mapping, if it suits my purposes..
